Sales Account Representative (Sales Processing)

Established in 1986, N.A. Trading Company has steadily grown to become one of the premier Asian food importers and distributors in the Los Angeles area. We import products primarily from Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China, offering a wide variety of food and merchandise items. Our portfolio includes well-known brands such as FOCO, Chaokoh, Aroy-D, Pantainorasingh, and our own Three Deer Brand. Our most popular items include jasmine rice, canned coconut juice, coconut milk, instant noodles, mung beans, Thai tea drinks, and frozen durian.
What You’ll Do:
As an Account Manager/Food Broker in our Asian Grocery division, you will be a key player in expanding our market presence, boosting sales revenue, and contributing to the company’s continued success. We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team, responsible for developing sales strategies, building and maintaining client relationships, and growing our presence in the foodservice and grocery industries. This role will require travel to meet clients, attend industry events, and generate leads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Increase Market Share: Responsible for expanding the market presence of the brands we represent by developing and maintaining relationships with key retailers and foodservice clients.
- Product Presentation & Promotion: Present and promote our clients' products at retail headquarters and food show events, building strong partnerships and awareness.
- Strategic Sales Planning: Utilize data, technology, and market insights to create and implement effective sales strategies.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, loyal customer relationships, ensuring mutual success and growth.
- Brand Representation: Represent N.A. Trading Company in an ethical and professional manner, always aligning with the brand values and objectives.
- Sales Data Management: Source, prepare, and analyze sales data, reporting regularly on sales volume, market trends, and other relevant metrics.
- Account-Specific Plans: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute sales, marketing, and merchandising strategies tailored to specific accounts.
- Negotiation & Promotions: Prepare, present, and negotiate new products, promotional programs, and other client-specific initiatives within approved funding parameters.
- Retail Store Visits: Visit client and retailer store locations to stay informed about merchandising initiatives and understand the competitive landscape.
- Timely Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any financial or administrative issues, such as pricing discrepancies or deductions, in a prompt manner.
- Business Reviews: Initiate and participate in the preparation and presentation of business reviews with both clients and customers.
Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in various industry events
- Travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 40lbs.
- Reliable transportation required for travel to client locations, stores, and other meetings.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in retail or foodservice, with knowledge of food distribution and brokerage highly preferred.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is beneficial but not required.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency with MS Windows software suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and a solid understanding of syndicated sales data platforms.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with comfort in making presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate and contribute effectively within a team environment.
- Self-Motivated: High-energy, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
