What You’ll Do As the Operations Manager for our Charles Austin facility, you will be responsible for the safety, quality, and production of chicken, pork, beef, goat, and other red meat cuts to be sold to distributions centers (DCs), stores, and restaurants. You will also oversee the daily management of tasks within the cold storage and dry goods warehouse, working a 5.5-day workweek.
Oversight of Daily Operations: Oversee and manage a team of employees, including supervisors and coordinators, and are responsible for hiring, training, and performance management. Plan and coordinate warehouse and production operations, maintain equipment and facilities, ensure safety regulations, streamline logistics processes, and communicate with supply chain teams. Additionally, enforce safety and housekeeping protocols.
Department Management: Develop policies and procedures to ensure efficient, safe and effective DC and production operations. Ensure food safety and quality assurance, enforce compliance, communicate business priorities, analyze performance data, manage change, and develop productivity tools. Additionally, audit, monitor accountability, and act as an overall process auditor.
Financial Management: Manage the site budget, including labor, equipment, and maintenance costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Have full ownership of the value stream, including receiving, inventory accuracy, meat processing, load staging, FIFO, labor management, and shipping.
Leadership & Talent Development: Ensure compliance with regulations regarding health, safety, labor laws, and the environment. This includes liaising with regulatory agencies, performing coaching and disciplinary actions, auditing training, coaching, and mentoring staff, and gathering stakeholder input to provide feedback.
Supply Chain & Sales/Territory Planning: Understand business operations, customer needs, and warehouse products to support inventory planning, coordinate dispatch and drivers, and monitor the local market for pricing strategy and promotions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, including 3+ years of experience in people management.
Knowledge of food safety and quality assurance regulation and inventory planning and supply chain management principles.
Experience with financial management, including budgeting and cost-saving strategies.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
