What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Technician, at Charles Austin, you will play a vital role in maintaining optimal performance, safety, and functionality of machinery and equipment within the facility. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs to prevent downtime and ensure safe operations.
Responds quickly to requests for maintenance service, investigates the source of difficulty and takes appropriate action to repair and/or restore service within the established quality and time standards.
Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks. Ensures that tools and equipment are used safely and responsibly.
Assist in the installation and maintenance of new machinery and equipment. Provides input on equipment improvements or replacements based on observations and experience.
Conducts regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery to identify and address potential issues before they become significant problems.
Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as needed. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from production staff.
Monitors and maintains inventory levels of maintenance supplies and parts. Assist in ordering necessary materials to ensure that repairs can be made in a timely manner.
Reports any safety issues to the appropriate personnel
Qualifications
High school diploma, technical certification, or associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
2 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems is essential
Basic to intermediate plumbing and electrical proficiency
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in using hand and power tools.
Familiarity with safety standards and procedures.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 45 lbs.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude
Willingness to work in various conditions, including extreme temperatures or heights.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
